July 26th marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that protects the rights of people with disabilities. This legislation prohibits discrimination and ensures that individuals with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to live, work, and participate fully in their communities. The passage of the ADA was the result of tireless advocacy, and its impact continues to move us toward a more inclusive and equitable society. While we’ve made great strides, the work is far from over. The fight for full inclusion, access, and equality continues. Advocates and allies must stay engaged to ensure the ADA’s promises are upheld and expanded.
