We are currently looking to add 2–3 motivated, and enthusiastic players born in 2018 to join the Deptford 2018 Travel Soccer Team for the upcoming season. This is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills in a fun, competitive, and professionally coached environment. The team will compete in the South Jersey Soccer League (SJSL) and will be coached by Fran Schmutz, our Soccer Development School (SDS) Coaching Director, alongside experienced coaches from our older premier teams. On behalf of the Yoachum family and the Deptford Soccer Association, we want to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to honor the life of Chase Yoachum at the vigil, despite the terrible weather. Your presence meant more than words can fully express. The heavy rain and stormy skies mirrored the sorrow we all feel in the wake of such a devastating loss, yet so many of you still stood strong, side by side, in the rain, thunder and some lightning—just to pay tribute to a young boy who touched the hearts of so many in just 13 short years. Chase was a bright, kind-hearted, and spirited young soul—full of energy, passion, and promise. Whether on the soccer field or simply sharing a laugh with his teammates, Chase brought joy and warmth to those around him. Seeing our community gather, even through thunder and rain, was a true testament to the love people had for him, and to the strength of the community that now rallies in his memory. Thank you to those who shared stories, shed tears, and held one another close. Your compassion and support are helping the family and our soccer community take one small step forward in an otherwise unimaginable time. We will carry Chase’s light with us always.
