SAH promotes the study, interpretation and conservation of the built environment worldwide for the benefit of all. The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) promotes the study, interpretation, and conservation of architecture, design, landscapes, and urbanism worldwide for the benefit of all. SAH serves as a network of local, national, and international institutions and individuals who, by vocation or avocation, focus on the built environment and its role in shaping contemporary life. SAH has more than 3,500 members world-wide. SAH’s headquarters are located in Chicago in the historic Charnley-Persky House (CPH), designed by architects Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright in 1891. SAH operates the Charnley -Persky House Tours and Store.
