NHSNYC Welcomes: Laura McKenna is Director of Marketing and Communications at Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City (NHSNYC), where she leads strategic initiatives to amplify the organization's impact, enhance community engagement, and elevate brand awareness. Prior to joining NHSNYC, Ms. McKenna was Marketing Manager at NHS Brooklyn CDC, Inc., where she contributed to community development efforts and housing initiatives. She also continues to serve as Lead Facilitator for the Southern Brooklyn Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), a coalition focusing on emergency preparedness and response coordination. Ms. McKenna is a staunch advocate for language equity, valuing New York City's diverse cultures and ethnicities. She has presented on multilingual emergency communications for NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYC Emergency Management, and the Global Polyglot Conference, and is currently on the NYC Community Engagement Commission’s Language Access Advisory Committee. Ms. McKenna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in Psychology from New York University. (fb)
