Our Holiday Hunger Project is gearing up! Red bags will get delivered to over 9,000 homes for food donations this weekend and the Gift Baskets for school employees are coming together. We collected letters to employees from the elementary students yesterday. Altrusa DFW Impacting Over 14000 Lives Yearly Through HandsOn Service Altrusa DFW Foundation is a local nonprofit 501c3 community service organization with membership open to all. Our primary focus is on hunger and literacy among children women and families in need. Altrusa DFWs Annual Impact on Local DFW Communities 72000 110000 Value of food donated to several local food pantries and ISDs in 2023 Approximate total economic value of Altrusa DFWs contributions to our community exclusive of volunteers time 2500 Volunteer hours given to our community by our members low estimate 14000 Number of lives impacted through all of our community service projects contributions in one year 11000 Books provided at no cost to local children to encourage literacy excitement 14 Tons Of food collected through our 2023 Red Bag Food Drive. Our Signature Service Projects Holiday Hunger Project Collecting thousands of pounds of food through our Red Bag Food Drive and providing food baskets to numerous CISD support staff.
