Meet the Trees you can find at CGR's Native Plant Nursery! Today's spotlight is on the American Sycamore, scientifically classified as Planatus occidentalis. We have 77 sycamore trees in our stock that are perfect for spaces with plenty of room to grow, places in need of shade, and places in need of some beauty! This beautiful tree lives for hundreds of years, growing tall and wide, deep and strong. It is resistant to hurricane force winds because of its aggressive root system, but you want to give it some space between the base of the tree and concrete slabs. Sycamores do well in wetlands habitats and provide shelter for several species of birds and mammals. They grow throughout zones 4-9, and make the perfect shade tree to put a picnic table underneath and enjoy all summer long.
