[Update: 6/26/2025] Dong Nguyen was RELEASED FROM ICE DETENTION on Sunday, June 22nd. This is a huge win for the community. This would not have happened without the endless calls and public pressure from his friends, family, and community. Dong wants to thank the community for all the ways you’ve shown up to support his release. Our event honoring the 50th anniversary of the wars in Southeast Asia is coming up THIS SUNDAY! WHEN: Sunday, June 29, 1-4pm WHERE: RSVP for the location RSVP: bit.ly/aarw50threfuge Nourishment is one of our core values, and we know that nourishing our impacted community members has to come first. We'll be gathering many different healing practices under one roof, from making food together, sharing cultural practices, and providing concrete ways to take action. We're excited to build a public kitchen with you all, hosted by our very own Vietnamese women's circle! They'll be making Vietnamese spring rolls and sharing their recipes with you all <3 We'll also be constructing a Lao blessing altar, and holding a baci ceremony, a Lao cultural practice done to give each other well wishes. Finally, we're collecting donations for our Southeast Asian community members that have been impacted by the ICE raids! Bring your items to the event the day of!
