Press Release Contact: Chief Nick Conway FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PHONE: (203) 312-5732 May 22, 2025 STRUCTURE FIRE IN NEW FAIRFIELD New Fairfield CT: At approximately 6:44 PM on Tuesday May 20th the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Oakwood Drive for a reported structure fire. First units arrived on scene at 6:52 PM and confirmed a working structure fire. Firefighters verified all occupants were evacuated and quickly initiated an aggressive attack. The fire was declared under control at 7:08 PM, and extensive overhaul operations followed to ensure complete extinguishment and prevent rekindling. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of our firefighters, and first responders on scene, the fire was contained to the original structure with no injuries to any fire personnel. Fire scene operations were completed at 10:00 PM. The fire remains under investigation by the New Fairfield Fire Marshal’s Office.
