The lower half of the Conning Tower is shown in 3 videos: Being raised off the truck; being rotated so the forward part aligns with the bow of the submarine structure; and setting the Conning Tower on supports for the measurement process over the next few days. (fb)
The lower half of the Conning Tower was brought to the construction site today. We will now double and triple check the measurements of the structures inside the Conning Tower that we will weld to the supports installed above the hull rings to add extra support. This will confirm the exact placement when the Conning Tower is set atop the hull. That may happen next week. The Big Red Machine is due to be delivered to the site next Tuesday and will be set directly from the truck onto the cement base. We will be on site to video that process! (fb)
