Visit Our Website! June 9, 2025 Packing those Boxes! This Thursday June 12th is our regular monthly packing night. It is always the 2nd Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 17671 13th Road, Plymouth, IN. All are welcome. If you have an organization that wants to volunteer at another time, contact Jan at 574-936-1424 or janh@operationquietcomfort.com to schedule. New Board Member Kenny and I made a trip to Florida for my brother's Memorial Service. Since we were driving, we decided to make it an adventure. After checking the map, we discovered that it was not out of our way to go through Radford, VA to meet a longtime volunteer of OQC. We had an enjoyable evening with Laura Eanes. It's always great to be able to put a face to a name. Over a delicious dinner of pizza and pasta we shared information and updates about OQC. We discovered that Laura has been a part of OQC since it was in LaSalle, MI with Lori Pate. At the end of the evening Laura signed on to be a board member of OQC. We welcome her to this new phase of support to the mission of Operation: Quiet Comfort. PLEASE KNOW that everything is appreciated no matter how big or small. Find the Operation: Quiet Comfort Wish List on Amazon StarsForOurTroops.org This is a group of volunteers, who take old US Flags, retired from service and pass the legacy of their embroidered stars to those that defended them. Each star is placed in a small bag with the following message. "I am part of our American flag that has flown over the USA. I can no longer fly. The sun and winds caused me to become tattered and torn. Please carry me as a reminder that YOU are not forgotten.” These are given to veterans and active-duty service members. Eric Anderson is a local volunteer with StarsForOurTroops that keeps us supplied with stars to send in OQC care packages. If you have old flags to donate or want more information contact Eric at: veteranreserve@yahoo.com Our Mission Operation: Quiet Comfort was established in July 2004 for the purpose of honoring and comforting members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are injured while serving in harm's way, and to provide support to those caring for them. OQC has expanded to provide emotional and moral support to our troops serving far from home.
