Celebrating 105 Years of Service The predecessor agency of Wesley Education Center for Children and Families was opened in January 1920 by the Woman’s Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Church in response to needs voiced by young working mothers. Housed in one room of Friendship Home (a mission boarding home for young African American women) at 641 West Fourth Street in the West End the agency was call Friendship Home Nursery-Kindergarten. Wesley has survived 3 moves , 3 major construction projects, 4 names changes and constant state licensing and payment changes. Wesley has always strived to be the best. Over the years we have participated in Untied Way success by Six, Teacher Learning Circles, Ohio Children’s Alliance Mental Health Bridge and Step Up to Quality. 105 years later, Wesley continues to remain true to it’s initial mission of addressing the needs of working families in a complex world. Wesley is the oldest childcare center in the city of Cincinnati. We are grateful for all who have contributed to our success. This includes the thousands of volunteers, staff, parents and donors.
