When Laura Donaldson met a mother desperate for her injured son to have options for a better life, she couldn’t look away. Young brain injury survivors were being placed in nursing homes with no path forward and no purpose. She gathered a small group, pulled chairs from a dumpster, and got to work. From library meetings and secondhand desks to a full nonprofit serving over 120 people across New York, Bridges for Brain Injury was built on love, grit, and the refusal to give up on those living with traumatic brain injury. 🧠 This is more than a story.
