The Nature Center at Salt Bay Farm is undergoing renovations, just in time for summer camp to start at the end of June! Everyone could use a buddy! Nobleboro Central School third graders and their "Senior Buddies" met here at the Denny Center last week to learn about the Wabanaki. They heard Wabanaki stories, learned who the Wabanaki are (and that they're not gone!), etched birch bark, and learned about how important birch bark and other wild edibles were to the Wabanaki people. This class meets monthly throughout the school year, and has come to Coastal Rivers several times to learn about things like mammals, birds, trees, seeds, pollinators, and more.
