Cincinnati Golden Gloves educates, encourages, empowers and develops life skills for at-risk boys and girls using the sport of Olympic-style amateur boxing, which develops health, fitness, discipline, and character. CGGY is a charitable organization founded by Buddy LaRosa over 40 years ago to address and remedy barriers that negatively impact at-risk youth. We use the sport of Olympic-style, youth amateur boxing to engage at-risk boys and girls in a structured, safe environment. Boxing is the hook that brings boys and girls into our boxing gym in OTR, but it is only part of the equation. We also provide mentoring, homework assistance, anti-crime and anti-drug education, life skills development and job readiness opportunities for our participants and their families in our Neuman Learning Center adjacent to the boxing gym.
