Heart breaking news of Carol’s passing on September 29th. She taught at MCR for 30 years and her presence is felt in our space every single day. She instilled the importance of independence, trust in the child and philosophy, letting every child “see the sparkle in your eye” when interacting, and being intentional when communicating because words matter. She is infamous for her language curriculum and use of the Movable Alphabet which is in play every day at MCR. She is less know for her love of the math curriculum but her method for presenting the Golden Beads is clear and effective and also woven in to our everyday practice. She selflessly gave her life to children and to a generation of Educators. We thank you for the wisdom you’ve given us to continue your legacy.
