When Legal Hub approached us to help Belarusian parents abroad acquire vital birth documents for their children, we knew this required more than a single solution, it demanded the full power of our team and network working together. The Challenge: Without proper documentation, these children risk joining over 400,000 stateless people in Europe. Our Civic Space Team: Connected Legal Hub with volunteer lawyers from DLA Piper and White & Case LLP to draft comprehensive legal guides covering birth document processes in 14 countries. Our Forced Displacement Team: Facilitated partnerships with Apatride Network, who amplify advocacy through stateless-led organizations across the EU. The Impact: This September, Legal Hub and Apatride Network will deliver a historic briefing to the European Parliament on statelessness, featuring critical research from our pro bono legal partners. This collaboration exemplifies why we intentionally work across our Civic Space, Forced Displacement, and Climate & Environment teams and leveraging our full network to connect the right expertise with urgent needs.
