From abuse and isolation to safety and faith—Tina’s journey is one of resilience, community and the grace of God. Tina was born into a respected Iraqi family. Encouraged by her brother to consider following Christ, she had no idea how much that invitation would matter in the years ahead. Married off to an older man living in the United States, Tina soon faced a life of control, fear and domestic violence. Eventually, she fled with her children to a safe house—and met members of a Christar church-planting team. Today, Tina is raising her children in a new faith community, growing in Christ and trusting God with each step forward.
