Katie's Komets is a co-ed wheelchair basketball team for kids with physical disabilities. The organization is for kids in elementary school through high school graduation. The team is supported by the Katie Kirlin Fund. The Kirlin Family established the Fund, in memory of Katie, and her achievements in wheelchair athletics. The Fund’s mission is to provide financial support that fosters participation in wheelchair sports for children in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Our athletes have varying disabilities yet they all find a common purpose and a home within our community and each other. We strive to create a positive atmosphere where we can foster independence selfconfidence and emotional and social wellbeing. Watching our athletes grow and mature both on and off the court makes everything we do worth it.
