🙏💛🥲 Thank you to everyone who came out to our Brown Palms, Yellow Balms Closing Reception on Sunday! It's always bittersweet to see an exhibition that everyone worked to so hard to put together come down. The biggest thank you to all the artists who participated, the staff at SOMArts Cultural Center for all the support, to API Cultural Center- San Francisco for co-presenting, and our all-star exhibition team with Lead Curator: O.M. France Viana, Exhibitions Coordinator: Phuan Khun, Exhibitions Volunteer: Malou Babilonia, and our own Programs & Communications Manager: Melanie Elvena. Appreciations also to AAWAA Board Members and volunteers for showing up to support our install, events, and deinstall. This really was such a community effort and that makes our biennial exhibitions always so special. 💓 Even though all the pieces have come down, you can still see all the art, read the artists' statements, watch and listen to media, and go around the space with our 3D Gallery Tour! A shout out to Jesus Rodriguez from SOMArts for documenting the gallery and putting the tour together. 📝 A reminder about some of the ways we've made the Brown Palms, Yellow Balms gallery and programs more accessible for all of our audiences to enjoy: ♿️ The Main Gallery at SOMArts Cultural Center is fully ADA accessible with ADA accessible bathrooms 👀 Large-Print Gallery Guides are available at the gallery entrance (also via QR code) 👌 Today's Closing Reception program will provide ASL interpretation (with both hearing and deaf interpreters) 🧑💻 A Virtual Gallery Tour of the exhibition available online for those unable to physically come visit Find these features and RSVP for the Closing Reception here: https://www.aawaa.net/brownpalmsyellowbalms (fb)
