“Winning the Tech Challenge has dramatically accelerated our development cycle and process.” Nafura Advanced Technologies won our spring Tech Challenge in the category of removal of organic contaminants in water. The company, in partnership with Deep Science Ventures, is transforming industrial wastewater management with a plasma-based system that delivers industrial-capacity water treatment in one-thousandth the footprint and half the cost of traditional methods. The challenge prize money helped Nafura purchase equipment and testing apparatus, while the recognition from the award has helped it demonstrate credibility to prospective customers and investors. The interns in Community Water Services' inaugural H2OConnect Water Lab cohort got to experience all this and more this summer as they learned about water quality, filtration and careers along with the importance of taking care of our freshwater.
