DEAN W. TAYLOR BOTANICAL EXPLORATION MEMORIAL AWARD (Due Oct. 1) Is there a special spot in California that's just a blank space on every map of botanical diversity? Would you like to record the flora in an area in the first years after a wildfire? Have you hit a point in identifying species in a genus where you're convinced every key is wrong? The Dean W. Taylor Botanical Exploration Memorial Award provides $500 to fund herbarium collecting trips or other small-scale botanical exploration in Northern California. Awards can cover things like mileage, camping fees, and collection supplies. Northern California Botanists hopes that material support for the work Dean worked so hard to encourage will lead to new understanding of the botanical diversity of California.
