Throwback Thursday: Fisher's Chair Stretcher 1865. Stretchers are used for acute medical situations occurring outside of the hospital. Traditionally carried by two or more people, stretchers make for quick medical transfers while keeping the patient secure. This Chair Stretcher from 1868 shows a patient being carried by bearers.
