What does lead poisoning have to do with third grade reading scores? A lot, as it turns out. Our latest analysis shows a strong connection between early childhood lead exposure and low English Language Arts proficiency in Syracuse. We outline the findings and introduce a new early warning system designed to identify children most at risk before exposure occurs.
