The GHACF is our community’s charitable foundation. We connect people, support programs, and lead change to help our community thrive. The Grand Haven Area Community Foundation was created in 1971 as a permanent community endowment built over time by gifts and bequests from individuals, families and organizations committed to enhancing the quality of life in Northwest Ottawa County. The Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, is dedicated to improving and enhancing the qulity of life in Ottawa County and the Western Michigan area by:  Serving as a leader, catalyst and resource for philanthropy; Building and holding a permanent and growing endowment for the community's changing needs and opportunities without discrimination as to race, color, or creed; Striving for community improvement through strategic grantmaking in such fields as the arts, education, health, the environment, youth, social services and other human needs; Promoting partnerships around critical community issues and leveraging resources to meet community needs; Providing a flexible and cost-effective way for donors to achieve their charitable goals and to improve their community now and in the future.
