Written with the great Food Network star Andrew Zimmern, The Blue Food Cookbook comes out October 28 and celebrates all things sustainable and seafood. In a recent conversation with Ben, Barton shared that "although the work and writing of the book is of a global nature, what's most important here in Maine is that we have incredible access to what I call America's first heirloom or heritage food, which is the groundfish, and other fish, so nobly caught by our neighbors. We need to be eating as much as we can. I even think it's our civic opportunity and duty even to do so." We are delighted to share that we have accepted the generous donation of the former Wildcat property in St. George. This property has great potential to benefit commercial fishermen and harvesters along the coast. We are embarking on a strategic planning process to determine its best use with input from stakeholders in the community and within the blue economy. An open house will be held MONDAY OCT 20 10AM-11:30AM at the property. This will be the first of many listening sessions.
