Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder of the nervous system which causes tumors to form on th NF Midwest is committed to improving the lives of children, adults, and families impacted by neurofibromatosis in our region which includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and the eastern half of Missouri. NF Midwest C.A.R.E.S.! C.A.R.E.S. stands for Clinics, Awareness, Research, Education and Support. NF Midwest seeks to help those with NF in our region by improving Clinics and making them more accessible; raising Awareness; promoting and supporting Research; Educating those affected, the community and medical professionals; and providing much needed Support to the increasing amount of people diagnosed with NF1, NF2, and schwannomatosis.
