We're thrilled to spotlight the work of the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, recipient of a $10,000 grant from The Summit Foundation this past June. This grant supports VACNJ's outreach programs, bringing means of creative expression to all members of our community. Through partnerships with organizations like SAGE Eldercare, Empowering Kids Organization, Summit PEP Program, and ECLC of New Jersey, VACNJ is removing barriers and making art accessible to all, from fostering memory care and social interaction among seniors at SAGE to building language skills with EKO students. As one art therapist shared about the SAGE program, "Each participant has a growing portfolio of artwork that they are immensely proud of and which also aids in their memory care. They have demonstrated the ability to make process-based art- allowing for increased self-expression, insight, and joy. (fb)

We were delighted to receive an update from our grantee, Our House! We recently supported them with a $7,850 grant to enhance security at their group homes. These funds helped install a new, state-of-the-art keyless entry system at their Greenfield group home in Summit. This modern, app-based system allows for better access control and tracking, providing greater peace of mind for the residents of Greenfield, pictured here. Additionally, Our House installed an outdoor CCTV system at their Glendale group home to enhance resident safety and site monitoring. We're proud to partner with Our House and support their vital work in providing safe and supportive housing. (fb)
