The weather is finally starting to break, but we’ve been offering many more “cool” lunches as with pasta salad including chicken and pork. And we had lots of help, as usual, including Allstate volunteers, casseroles from The Village on Morehead, bread from Sorellina Pasta and more than 200 ham and turkey sandwiches from RSM. (fb)

It was a hot and hearty week at DSK! Friday, we served 200 Chicken Cacciatore lunches with salad, fruit & dessert—plus 50 bags of fresh groceries and pantry staples. Huge thanks to the Scott Insurance team for donating 260 turkey & ham sandwiches—an awesome extra for our guests! Also thanks to The Village on Morehead for casseroles and to Feeding Charlotte for delivering gourmet breads! With the heat rising, we started lunch early and extra lunches were also delivered to Charlottetown Terrace & Edwin Towers. Monday, we kept it cool with deli sandwiches, topped with homegrown tomatoes from volunteer Catherine Roberts—thank you! 🍅 The rest of the tomatoes? Future sauce!
