‼️ Please sign the petition to support the NJPACT REAL Rules‼️ NJDEP has proposed the REAL Rules to protect our communities from future storms. We can’t rely on federal help that may never come. Governor Murphy is under tremendous pressure to abandon these rules. He needs to hear from YOU! Your voice matters - our future depends on it. Gray treefrogs (Dryophytes versicolor) have been observed around windows and porch lights, where they eat insects attracted to the light - this is exactly where we found the frog in this photo. It was wandering right next to the window, outside the Watershed Center’s discovery room. Other insects that are part of their diet include insect larvae, mites, spiders, and snails. When they are young (like the one in this photo) they usually remain near the forest floor. As they age, they may transition to living in the forest canopy, resting on tree branches or leaves. Sometimes, they have even been observed basking in direct sunlight. These tree frogs rely on their excellent camouflage and pattern variation to hide from predators. Visit the Watershed Center and see the frogs right outside our building! #TheWatershedInstitute #GrayTreefrog #TreeFrog #Frogs #NewJersey #Wildlife #Biodiversity (fb)
