Just over a year ago, we lost Lana Watson, who dedicated 15 years to our ministry, most of them as Senior Director of Programs, Short-Term Transitions. Last week, we honored her legacy by dedicating our newly renovated Staff Sensory Room in her name. Lana not only championed the people we serve — she was also a fierce advocate for staff self-care, recognizing the challenges of this work. She pioneered key programs like Rapid Rehousing, SSVF, and Sacred Grounds Café, shaping the support we provide today. "Self-care originated with Lana. She always said it was important because if you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of the clients," says Terri Brown, Community Housing Developer and head of Self-Care Committee.
