At this morning's meeting we welcomed Andy Lander and Jennifer Woods of the US Veterans Corps. Andy updated our club on the numerous community projects they are involved in. Their major efforts over the past year involved providing assistance to western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. They did everything from serving meals to volunteers to helping in the rebuild efforts. Today we presented them with a check from the proceeds of the Bone Suckin' Sauce Peak City Pig Fest. We are also honoring them by donating a book in their name to the library of an Apex elementary school. We meet every Wednesday morning at 7:15 am at IHOP Beaver Creek, 1150 Beaver Creek Crossing, Apex. Come visit! Rotary District 7710 (fb)

Honoring Proving Rotarys Motto Service Above Self within the Town of Apex the State of North Carolina the USA the World In the summer of 2009 a group of Rotarians began meeting to brainstorm the establishment of a morning club in Apex. Over the next few months members from the Apex Rotary Club the Rotary Club of Cary MacGregor and under the direction of then District Governor Bill McLaurin the pieces began to come together to charter the new club. The Apex Sunrise Rotary Club held its first introductory meeting on November 17 2009 at what was then the TGI Fridays restaurant in Beaver Creek Commons. Attendance over the next few months grew and it became apparent that the Apex Sunrise Rotary Club would become a reality.
