Camp Southern Ground Inc.

Camp Southern Ground Inc. is a U.S. nonprofit organization founded by Grammy Award-winning artist Zac Brown in 2011. Located on over 400 acres in Fayetteville, Georgia, the organization is dedicated to providing extraordinary experiences to help individuals recognize and magnify their unique gifts.

Mission and Objectives

The mission of Camp Southern Ground is to profoundly impact the world by supporting youth and veterans through various programs. The organization emphasizes inclusion, diversity, and equity, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and abilities.

Programs for Youth

During the summer months, Camp Southern Ground hosts inclusive residential camps for children aged 7 to 17. These programs bring together typically developing children, those with neurodevelopmental differences, children from underserved areas, and children from military and veteran families. Camp activities are designed to challenge, educate, and inspire participants.

Additionally, Camp Southern Ground partners with Camp Corral, a program dedicated to transforming the lives of children of wounded, ill, or fallen military heroes through summer camp experiences.

Programs for Veterans

The organization supports post-9/11 veterans through two key programs:

• Warrior Week: This program focuses on workforce and wellness transition, helping veterans adjust to civilian life after military service.
• Warrior PATHH (Progressive Alternative Training for Helping Heroes): Designed to facilitate post-traumatic growth among combat veterans, this program aims to reduce PTSD and combat stress symptoms.

All veteran services are provided at no cost to participants, emphasizing community, direction, and support.

Facilities and Sustainability

The camp features environmentally friendly and self-sustainable facilities, including an organic farm that helps children connect with the food they eat. The campus also includes a labyrinth designed to help veterans with PTSD and other challenges find healing and strength.
