It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Thando Bezana, Co-Founder of KYP and a beloved friend of Ripples of Hope. Our hearts are broken. Thando was a light to so many in our Ripples family and far beyond. A trip to South Africa never felt complete without time with him—his hugs were the best, his smile contagious, and his presence filled every room with warmth. The world is brighter because of Thando’s love, passion, and unwavering belief in all people, especially young people. Every moment spent with Thando was a gift of joy and connection. It is fitting that the name Thando means love—because Thando Bezana embodied love in its truest form. The Ripples of Hope family sends our prayers, love, and deepest condolences to his family, his community in Kliptown, and all those touched by his extraordinary life across the world. (fb)

Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Who we are Ripples of Hope is a nonprofit organization which inspires people to be engaged and take action in partnership with communities and nonprofit organizations. We uphold a philosophy of philanthropy in action through transformative service and by maintaining partnerships that cultivate ongoing dialogue. What we do Ripples of Hope organizes and facilitates local and global service journeys for families and engages in projects which empower local communities.
