“Go away!” …Wait, what?” Zoey had just wrapped a full school day when her PT, Liz, thought she was using her eye gaze device to call it quits. Totally fair. Summer break was calling. But Zoey wasn’t saying “go away.” She was saying: “go get.” She’d spotted her mom grabbing a bench so they could rest before moving on to the treadmill. Zoey knew what was happening, and she had something to say. Usually, Zoey and Liz use a yes/no board in therapy. Liz asks the question, and Zoey gives her answer. But during this session, they pulled out the eye gaze device instead, giving Zoey the chance to share her thoughts more freely.
