Overview

The Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) is a non-profit organization established in 2006 to enhance access to higher education for students in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) system. DSF aims to build the educational and economic future of Denver by providing scholarships and comprehensive support services to help students succeed beyond high school.

Mission and Programs

DSF collaborates with DPS high school students, families, and statewide partners to increase access to post-secondary education. The organization operates 15 DSF Future Centers within DPS high schools, where full-time college advisors work proactively with students from ninth to twelfth grade. DSF awards need-based scholarships to DPS graduates attending a community college, university, or technical college in Colorado. Additionally, it partners with colleges to provide extra financial aid and ongoing support to help students succeed.

Impact and Achievements

DSF has made significant strides in supporting over 12,000 DPS students and their families. The organization also supports more than 2,190 DSF Scholars. Its programs are evidence-based, focusing on support systems, actionable tools, and scholarships to guide students toward lifelong success. DSF is nationally recognized for its approach, which includes college access, scholarships, and success support services.

DSF was founded with a challenge grant from philanthropists Tim and Bernadette Marquez, aiming to increase college attainment in Denver.
