Giving Together (GT) is excited by Gov. Wes Moore's announcement of $1.75 million in tax credits for nonprofit organizations through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Community Investment Tax Credit program. The funding will assist nonprofits with capital and operating costs associated with local housing efforts and community revitalization projects. May of GT's grantees should benefit from this program. On July 4th a Women's Shelter operated by a Giving Together grantee, Interfaith Works, experienced an electrical fire causing extensive damage and displacing 34 residents and 16 staff. Thankfully there were no injuries and all residents have been temporarily relocated. Interfaith Works is asking for donations of funds or meals. Here is how you can learn more and help: (fb)
