“It means you can make it through the month.” says Sgt. Homer Kelly, who picks up boxes of nutritious food each month from our East Capitol Walk-In Center. 🥫🍎 The center is one of our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) sites, open to income-eligible seniors in D.C. age 60 and older. Each month, seniors stop by to receive shelf-stable groceries and fresh produce. The boxes—filled with items like canned chicken, low-fat milk, whole grains, and fruit—help stretch fixed incomes and support seniors’ health. 🔗 Read more on our blog about the East Capitol Walk-In Center and the support it provides!
