Here’s your #RockwellColorPalette for October! 🎨 This collage, "Arrangement #8" by Carrie Moyer, is a celebration of rich jewel tones. The vertical composition features bold red strips of cut paper cascading down, resembling a flower, while curvaceous loops of opaque red acrylic paint flow gracefully across the piece. These vibrant reds are complemented by scattered flecks of purple and green, creating a dynamic contrast. 💎 What do you think of this color palette? 💬 Carrie Moyer, "Arrangement #8", 2021, mixed media and collage on paper. 18 1/2 x 11 3/4 in. From "Robert Weingarten: Palettes" 🎨 Ed Ruscha (b. 1937) is an American artist most closely associated with the Pop Art movement. In stark contrast to his vast, image-rich canvases, Ruscha’s working space was nearly empty. “In his studio,” Weingarten recalled, “there was nothing. A big space, full of paintings and in one corner, two cotton balls, blue and yellow.” Using a macro lens, Weingarten focused tightly on the small, humble yellow cotton ball, the resulting image of which offers a surprising alignment with the irony and wit that characterizes Ruscha’s work. Weingarten’s unexpected fixation on a simple cotton ball mirrors Ruscha’s approach, elevating an ordinary, overlooked object into something visually striking and monumental. "Robert Weingarten: Palettes" is currently on view through January 5, 2026. Click the link in our bio to plan your visit. Robert Weingarten (b. 1941), "Ed Ruscha #1", 2004.
