🏃♀️🏃♂️ Lace up those running shoes, Middle School Cross Country season is officially underway! All four NCSD middle school teams will be competing in weekly meets. This week, Rowe Middle School matched up against Rock Creek Middle School. For some runners, this was their first race ever! Everyone did a fantastic job, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings. (fb)
Joey Santiago (b. 1965) is a guitarist who co-founded the influential alternative rock band The Pixies. His signature "angular and bent" guitar style—replete with noise, distortion, and unique sonic textures—was instrumental in pioneering the loud-quiet-loud dynamic that defined The Pixies' sound. This sound, which Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain famously admitted to "ripping off," cemented the Pixies’ importance as a direct precursor to the grunge and alternative rock explosion of the 1990s.
