At WorldVeg, we’re marking this important occasion with a special event at our Headquarters, joined virtually by all our regional centers. This year’s theme, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡,” underscores how healthy plants are the foundation of a sustainable food system, a balanced environment, and ultimately, human health. In the One Health framework, plant health is directly connected to the health of people, animals, and ecosystems. The 2025 𝐀𝐏𝐒𝐀–𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝𝐕𝐞𝐠 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐮𝐦 Annual Workshop took place at WorldVeg headquarters in Taiwan on 5-6 May!🌱 More than 80 participants from 42 seed companies joined over 20 WorldVeg scientists and staff for two full days of learning and collaboration. They took part in sessions on tomato🍅, pepper🌶️, cucurbit🥒, and okra breeding, evaluated new varieties in the field, toured the renovated Genebank and new Speed Breeding facility, and worked together on exciting new projects.
