Listen to these public comment rock stars! After countless hours of talking, collaborating, writing, and speaking in the name of “watershed stewardship for a healthy and productive landscape,” there is a new code to show for it. Thank you to everyone who contributed–conservation partners, neighbors, city staff, Community Board Members, and Commissioners–we are inspired by your words and effort. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the Wetland & Watercourse Code hearing. We love engaging in the public process with our community. (fb)
It was wonderful to snack and stroll with everyone at Gardner Park during September’s Riparian Walk! This month, we gathered in the late afternoon. We shared Wild Rose, Mint, and Mullein Tea with fresh bread and Chokecherry jelly, many of the ingredients foraged from the park we explored together. After introductions and intention setting, we walked through the sunset, observing the rich diversity of habitats within this dense urban park. Signs of its charismatic residents included bear scat and beaver-cut logs, while turning over rocks and logs in Bozeman Creek revealed the world of macroinvertebrates and their microhabitats. Thanks to Russell Conti and Brittany Boles for sharing your knowledge, and to everyone for bringing curiosity and respect to the space. Missed this walk? No worries! Each walk offers a new glimpse of what’s happening along our local waterways. Next month, on October 28, we’ll visit a different location. Watch for details (check the link in our bio!) and join us to discover what’s unfolding in your local stream or wetland. (fb)

Working together for clean water Watershed Stewards Gallatin River Storymap Latest News The Gallatin Water Science Symposium was a day to inspire research that is driven by the challenges and needs of our community and for our actions on the ground from policy to restoration to reflect best practices rooted in science.
