We are so excited to be returning to Hospital Loma de Luz in March 2019 ! This mission trip has been ongoing for over a decade and was initially established by the Eastern Virginia Medical School, Department of Otolaryngology. Last year, we saw close to 60 patients and performed 25 surgeries. Our team includes veteran surgeons Dr. Kaalan Johnson, Dr. Isaac Bohannon, and Dr. Sapna A. Patel. From the University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology, we welcome resident surgeons- Dr. Kaitlyn Zenner and Dr. Emmanuel Jauregui. Dr. Michael Collins will provide anesthesia . Surgical technologist, Joshua Kennedy, will keep the operating rooms running as he has on previous trips. Please donate for our cause and support the local community in Balfate, Honduras! Global Surgical Outreach OUR GOAL IS TO REDUCE THE GLOBAL BURDEN OF HEAD NECK MEDICAL SURGICAL DISEASE Lets Chat Main Content Global Surgical Outreach Facial Reconstructive Surgery Humanitarian Surgeons Group Our mission is to correct facial deformities and severe injuries for those who have suffered. The primary goal of Global Surgical Outreach is to reduce the global burden of surgical disease through education development of medical infrastructure and the provision of pro bono head and neck facial reconstructive surgery both in the US and the less developed world for both adults and children. We provide specialized treatment for patients who were born with cleft lip palate deformities those who have suffered injury from war and those affected by other forms of violence including domestic violence. GSO has sponsored surgical missions to Asia Africa and Latin America.
