We are grateful to the thousands of supporters who signed petitions for Mastery Schools and the nearly 2,000 staff members who show up for our students and families daily. All seven Mastery schools up for renewal received a favorable five-year recommendation from the Charter School Office at the June Philadelphia Board of Education Action Meeting. Speaking before a packed audience of education leaders and advocates, Mastery parents Lynn Miller, Aliyah Bennet, Keyshanna Parker, George Tomlin, Tianna Gaines-Turner, Selina Williams, Janie Jones-Hurd, Evelyn LeBron, and Honelia Mirabel Lopez, along with Mastery principals Dr. Ayo Akinmoladun, Eugene Haith, and Monique Dolcy, passionately advocated for the renewal of several Mastery schools. With Molina Elementary chosen as the Jersey Cares school of the year, 100 volunteers from Conner Strong & Buckelew spent the day bringing changes to Molina’s campus. Volunteers hosted student workshops, built raised garden beds, painted murals, created pavement games, and more.
