OUR MISSIONThe NC AHEC Program provides and supports educational activities and services with a focus on primary care in rural communities and those with less access to resources to recruit train and retain the workforce needed to create a healthy North Carolina. Located in Rocky Mount Area L AHEC is one of nine centers in the NC AHEC Program and serves Edgecombe Halifax Nash Northampton and Wilson counties. Area L AHEC supports preceptors health science schools and students in need of AHEC housing. The Area L AHEC Office of Continuing Medical Education OCME facilitates learning activities that are evidencebased needsdriven and free from bias with the goal to improve the competence performance or patient outcomes of participating physicians and their healthcare team members.
