The Scholarship Foundation thanks everyone who attended this past weekend's 10th Annual Sergeants Davis and Dougherty Memorial Shoot in Coplay, PA! In partnership with the 1/5 Vietnam Veterans Association since 2013, this memorial event honors the bravery and sacrifice of Sgt Rodney M. Davis USMC and Sgt James Dougherty USMC, two American heroes who served in Vietnam. We were thrilled to honor Jim Latta with the Self Above Service Award for his long-standing support as event chair. This year, we are thrilled to have raised more than $100K to support Marine children! As we celebrate World Pharmacy Day, meet Marine Scholar Roman, a pharmaceutical sciences major at Purdue University! Roman says his father, veteran Sergeant Christopher M. Yoder USMC, inspired him to pursue his studies when his father served as an engineer during deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. With support from the Scholarship Foundation, Roman is attending college debt-free and fully focused on his academics and a future career aimed to help others. He hopes to one day contribute to the development of life-changing medications and carry forward his family’s legacy of service. (fb)
