Congratulations to Catherine Sullivan, MPH, RDN, LDN, IBCLC, RLC, FAND, the 2024 Judith Lauwers Award for Excellent in Lactation Education recipient. Catherine is Director and assistant professor at the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute and coordinates the CAAHEP-accredited Lactation Consultant education program at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on the impact of best breastfeeding practices and the impact on systems level change in healthcare and the community. WHO WE ARE LEAARC demonstrates a commitment to excellence in didactic and clinical instruction through maintaining a global standard of quality in lactation education. LEAARC does this through the publishing of the comprehensive core curriculum and through a process of reviewing programs and courses to ensure they are operating optimally and utilizing quality standards. Programs and courses that go through LEAARCs rigirous review and that are found to excel in meeting the quality criteria will receive LEAARC Endorsement or will be recommended to CAAHEP for Accreditation. LEAARC provides continuing educational support to all Endorsed Courses and Accredited Programs.
